One Simple Nutrition Tip To Increase Your Daily Energy

Did you know that as babies we eat every 2-3 hrs? I sure found that out quickly after my sister has her first child, Jace. He ate all the time! Or, what it seemed like all the time. But, I know this is true for many other babies, as well!

Our bodies are already designed and created to eat every 2-3 hours. How cool is that?

Why do we stop? Life happens. We grow up, our schedules more demanding, our priorities change, and we forget or don’t have time.

If we want to lose or maintain weight, timing is critical! When you eat and how often you eat can make a huge difference in your energy levels and metabolism.

I want to you participate in this little exercise for me.

Think about your day today, or if you are doing this in the morning, think about yesterday. Fill in the blanks with the exact time (7:00am, 9:30am, noon, 7:00pm, etc) you ate.

What time you woke up today?_____________

First time you ate food?____________

Second? ______________

Third?________________

Fourth?_______________

Fifth? ________________

Sixth?________________

Take a look through your day. Did you eat every 2- 3 hours? No shame if you did not! This exercise is to simply make you aware of our eating habits and give you a practical solution.

If we do not eat enough throughout the day, it can often lead to the “sunken ship”, which means we carb dump in the evening because we think we have calories to spare. But, when we eat too much before bed, our bodies do not burn it off, thus they hold onto the excess energy (food) and makes us less hungry in the morning.

To avoid that, the best thing to do is eat 5-6 times a day every 2-3 hours. When we aim to eat every 2-3 hours, helps increase our energy and keeps our metabolism burning. It is also very helpful in managing energy. When we manage our energy, we also manage cravings and overeating. Win/Win.

PRO TIP: Your body likes to hold onto body fat if it goes long hours without calories. It best not to go over 4 hours without eating.
