How Will You Finish The Game? You Need This Mindset To Finish Strong.

Have you ever heard the saying, "it is not how you start, but how you finish?”  I don’t know how many times I heard from my college basketball coach share with our team, "It's not how you start but how you finish."

Playing sports my whole life, sometimes it is easier to put things into sports analogies. So, if we think of a full year as a full basketball or football game, then this Tuesday will be October 1st, the start of the fourth quarter in 2019. (Aka- 90 days until 2020- whaaat?!)

We all know that the score doesn’t matter after the first, second or third quarter, but what matters is the score AFTER the fourth quarter.

And have you ever noticed that some of the best and most exciting games are won in the fourth quarter?! (Anyone remember the year of Tebowing? He won games, by miracles, in the 4th quarter!)

It got me thinking, the game is not over yet so, how are you going to come out in the fourth quarter and finish this year?

Are there some resolutions, visions, dreams or promises that have yet to be fulfilled, that God has placed on your heart for this year?

If so, let me share some encouragement from Pastor Jason Gray:

"God has promised you something IN this year, you haven't seen it yet, but if you have the nerve to keep showing up and worshiping, then I am telling you God is going to show up in the 4th quarter! He is going to answer the prayers and promises that He has declared.”- PASTOR JASON GRAY

What God promised, He will fulfill. Keep showing up, keeping praying, keep worshiping, keeping believing, because God will show up.

So, my friend, how are you going to finish this year?

My prayer is that you do not sit on the sidelines and wait for 2020, but stay engaged in the game, because fourth quarters are when games are won and miracles happen.

“I want to encourage you to ask God for the desires in your heart and then stand in faith for Him to do His will.” - Joyce Meyer

“ Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most.” Psalm 37:4

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.” Ephesians 3:20
